My Approach to Counseling
-

The therapy approaches I primarily use:
-Person-centered and strengths based (it’s important we support you in what brings you joy, what your priorities are in healing, and build solutions around what comes naturally to you),
-Incorporate mindfulness and somatic practices (bringing compassionate awareness to our inner experiences and body’s sensations),
-And draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy (a process of getting to know and understand your conflicting thoughts and feelings and update any behaviors that no longer serve you).
-

Together we can:
-Expand your ability to be present with your feelings and thoughts from a place of compassion and curiosity while at the same time allowing stuck sensations to move through you.
-Explore who you want to be and how you want to live outside of societal pressures while also grieving what you may have missed/lost.
-Hold space for the nuances and complexities of our inner and outer worlds and relationships, while also critiquing the oppressive systems we must survive through.
-And so much more!
